Yes, that’s right. I just finished filing claim forms for not one, but two lawsuits that will hopefully give me a nice chunk of change. One was for foreign travel credit card charges. I was abroad for a few months in the summer of 1999 when I was in high school and was sent a packet to fill out for my share of the settlement with the credit card companies. Yay! Because I met the criteria (abroad for more than a week) I decided NOT to do the easy $25 refund, but take a gamble and go for the estimated refund. All I had to do was indicate why I was traveling for that time period.
The second was for a settlement against Bed Bath and Beyond. I bought some sheets there in the fall to use this winter. FYI sateen sheets are really heavy - I definitely won’t use them this summer. It turns out the company misrepresented the thread counts on A LOT of its sheet sets, and as such I should receive A FULL REFUND! Woot! Coincidentally, I just noticed this week that the set is starting to show some wear, particulary on the fitted sheet where I sleep and move around at night. I wasn’t expecting this from the quality of sheets I purchased. *Shame, Bed Bath & Beyond, shame.*
